Speed improvement by using tete’s Optimized CRT DLL- Upgrade Adobe Flash Player to 9.0.124 supporting H.264.
- Windows Media Player Firefox Plugin for Windows Vista and Windows XP SP2. (MozillaZine Knowledge Base)
- Remove mmoy’s patches and assign /LTCG explicitly. This step is try to see how many performance it would drop. In my plan, I would like to build with PGO support by VC8, however, it seems mmoy’s patches might encounter some error in my previous VC8 builds.

Why don’t you use MMX instead of Generic CPU on P1 Build?
At present, it is well-known fact Generic CPU is PGO and I think that nobody use Windows on the CPU which does not have MMX rather than making similar file.

公式がGeneric CPUでPGO な現在、同じような物を作るよりも、
今ならMMXが無いCPUでWindowsを使ってる人は居ないと思うのですが。

Firefox 3.0/3.0.1 官方版的主執行檔大概只有 300 KB 左右
為什麼 pigfoot 版的執行檔會接近 10 MB？
是 static linking 嗎？還是其他原因？

I also packed latest flash (NPSWF32.dll) which is 2.75MB. I think this is the most difference..

You’re right. However, the mmx patchset cannot be applied in Firefox 3.0. This is why P1 build doesn’t be compiled with MMX. But I will use your suggestion if possible.

Yes. All libraries that Firefox uses are static. It can increase speed-up a little bit. However, official build use dynamic libraries. That’s why the size of firefox.exe has such difference.

thank you so much.. this is the main reason I was moving to Opera.. (I’m talking about FireFox’s Windows port performance) and I’m still waiting for the release of Chrome and what becomes of it. I’ll test FF2 on Windows 2000 and report if it doesn’t work. I hope the releases are portable (in the sense that I don’t have to reinstall the app when I reinstall my OS) but it seems so, which is great. saved me a lot of trouble. Thanks a lot again
