thank you so much.. this is the main reason I was moving to Opera.. (I’m talking about FireFox’s Windows port performance) and I’m still waiting for the release of Chrome and what becomes of it. I’ll test FF2 on Windows 2000 and report if it doesn’t work. I hope the releases are portable (in the sense that I don’t have to reinstall the app when I reinstall my OS) but it seems so, which is great. saved me a lot of trouble. Thanks a lot again

Yes. All libraries that Firefox uses are static. It can increase speed-up a little bit. However, official build use dynamic libraries. That’s why the size of firefox.exe has such difference.

You’re right. However, the mmx patchset cannot be applied in Firefox 3.0. This is why P1 build doesn’t be compiled with MMX. But I will use your suggestion if possible.

I also packed latest flash (NPSWF32.dll) which is 2.75MB. I think this is the most difference..
