   You can make pigfoot’s optimized build launch and run even faster by compacting it using the PortableApps.com AppCompactor. Just download AppCompactor, install it to a folder on your desktop, run AppCompactor.exe and locate pigfoot’s Firefox folder using the Browse button. Don’t change any of the options below that text box and hit Next. Then wait for it to finish (don’t close that window or the window that appears) and you’re done!

   Same problem as the previous 3.5 build. The Windows Media Player launches for about 3 seconds, and disappears @ http://www.bvov.tv/windowsmedia-high.php# which I use frequently. Firefox Pop-Up-Blocker is set to allow. Tete009`s 3.5.1 build works fine here. Also one must use Tete009 “fix” for using this build as the “Default Browser” as listed below: 1. Get “helper.exe” file from the “uninstall” folder of official build.
   2. Make a new folder named “uninstall” in tete009 build’s root folder and put “helper.exe” in that folder.
   3. Run the helper.exe with /postupdate option. If you don’t succeed, please run the helper.exe as administrator.
   4. Run tete009 build and set it as default browser using the same procedure as an official build.

   I want to correct my earlier comments about Pigfoot`s 3.5 and 3.5.1 builds not working on the link provided. It was a link for older content not available now. The current link which now has content is http://www.bvov.tv/ which works fine. This was not a pigfoot browser problem. I was mistaken. I really like the latest 3.5.1 build and am now using it as my default browser.

   @malikor– whoa, it does feel a bit faster, but is there actually any merit to doing it? What exactly makes it faster? Can you explain it a bit? Would this work for apps installed on the hard disk? (And what would happen if you pack up basic Windows utilities and stuff?)

   @Stan

   PortableApps.com AppCompactor™ allows you to easily compress applications to decrease size on disk and increase performance when running from slow media like flash drives.

   It can be used on locally installed programs as well, such as Firefox, Thunderbird, AbiWord. Be sure that you only compact the directory that contains the program’s files. Will not work on Windows Apps. Make a backup before you do the compacting, as some programs do not respond to it well. It will make programs run and launch faster, as well as take up less space using UPX and 7za technology. Try it on OpenOffice, it works wonders. More info:

    Hi guys newbie at this can you help.

    I downloaded P3 build en_us and extract the files, there doesn’t appear to be an install or setup file. So I copied it over my firefox folder and it’s working.

    My question is, if you don’t have it installed can you run the p3 en_us as a portable? if so, why is there a portable version as well.

    If I had a clean pc without ff then how do I installed this optimised build.

    Any chances for Polish localization? There is no language pack available, and I’m pretty sure there would be a huge response ’cause Firefox is more popular here for last few years now…

    I don’t agree the PortableApps.com, compression, will speed up FF opening. In many experiments I don’t see noticeable improvement. If it was this easy, pigfoot would have been using it long before now.

    Just my opinion.
