hi! I’ve updated to the new 3.6 build, and it appears that it doesn’t work with Personas… is it just me or everywhere?
[my method]
1. ffx 3.5.x
The extension is uninstalled , maybe.
2.
update to 3.6
3.
reinstall The extension , some elses are still error.
night test tools is failure , not working .
Try it … …
the Personas add-on installs, but applying (“wearing”) doesn’t change a thing, I’m still with the original light-grey-blue finish.
now , 3.5.7
zh-cn
zh-tw
with add-ons
is ok, but
3.6
is not at all.
I got some silly virus notification for 3.6 released version but I’m going to guess that it’s just my Norton 2010 AV being too aggressive. Anyone else have the same problem? It works with the corporate AV just fine.
@Jensen:
Norton is too aggressive by default. There’s no virus in pigfoot’s files as long as you got them here and aren’t already infected.
@Everyone
Personas work fine for me. Did you do a clean, full install? You download and install the official version first, install pigfoot’s version on top of it, and make sure to use a clean profile.
Oddly enough, the installer installs in a subfolder called “Firefox”, not “Mozilla Firefox”, as you would expect. This means that, to do an “on top” installation as I describe above is a bit different. The easiest way to get around this is to install the official version to “C:\Program Files\Firefox” and then point pigfoot installer at “C:\Program Files”. But you can also just install pigfoot’s version wherever and copy the files to wherever you installed Firefox.
@pigfoot
I’d like to request that you change the install subdirectory to “Mozilla Firefox”, and to install by default to “C:\Program Files.” (Or remove the subfolder and just default to “C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox”). This will facilitate people doing an “on top” installation, which is the one that causes the least problems. (If you can just get access to the official installer, that would be a whole lot better, so you won’t get complaints like those above.)
Is pigfoot build updatable automatically ???
it appears that the problem was with a different addon; solved! thanks.
Y en Español???????????
@misterhatoola: glad you got it figured out.
@Euplio: Nope. I don’t think pigfoot has any plans to do that. It would have to be a separate program, as Mozilla won’t let you modify the update URL.
I guess someone with a bit of time on their hands might be able to do it. It would be really cool if they could pull it off with a plugin, but I wouldn’t get your hopes up.
TACO Plugin doesn’t work. Is this due to the build or is this due to the plugin?
Also, how come there is never any SSE3+ builds of Firefox for Windows?
pigfoot,
is there any chance for you to add an atom-specific FX private build? I think as the limitation resources on netbook, such an optimized private build will also be welcome!
I googled a paper about this kind of optimization at:http://software.intel.com/en-us/articles/atom-optimized-compiler/
and it requires an intel C++ compiler 10.x and later.

When I attempt to run FirefoxLoader.exe, XP gives “The application failed to initialize properly (0xc000001d). Click on OK to terminate the application.”
Sorry, didn’t catch the difference at first:
* P3 build, for AMD Athlon 64, Sempron, Opteron processor family, Intel Pentium 4/D/M, Intel Xeon, Intel Atom, Intel Core processor family, and other modern CPU.
* P2 build, for Athlon XP, Duron 1.1 GHz+, Pentium III ,Celeron 500+
* P1 build, for Generic CPU
So, for my Transmeta Crusoe (866) P1 version is preferable.
But anyway it’s as slow and hard as non-optimized. Very far from the vivid Opera 7.54.

Hi, I installed pigfoots version… First I deleted all the files in the Mozilla Firefox folder, and then I just copied all of pigfoots file into that folder… The only problem is flash does not work…
I go on google and the videos do not work, it is just white. I installed flash and it still has not solved the problem.

Is there going to be a 3.6.2 build coming out?
@ Hassan: I don’t think you need to delete the files from the Mozilla Firefox folder.
great release. Do you have a build for OSX?
3.6.3 just came out… thanks for the builds.. i really wish updates were alittle faster though but i understand. anyway you could post a guide on how you build these so we could do it ourselves?

You can download P1 or P2 or P3 versions of Pigfoot`s latest milestone builds here: http://ftp.twaren.net/local-distfiles/pigfoot/firefox/milestone/3.6/
Pigfoot`s new Firefox 3.6.3 Release build (I use P3) is excellent. It is the fastest optimized build available, and is very stable. Thanks Pigfoot for your good work.
Any idea why Pigfoot doesn’t make the announcements and links to his latest releases on this blog any more?
Cannot download your 3.6.3 build at office, when will you update your website download links?
i’ve got 3.6.3 already. It runs smoothly with my PC.
Thanks you for your contribution.
Just one more question, why Mozilla does not provide Firefox that customized by CPU?
That’s simply because Mozilla doesn’t want people with old pc to complain like “Firefox doesn’t run on my machine”.
People might say “then Mozilla could just provide both optimized version and not-optimized version.”
However, providing both not-optimized Firefox and optimized Firefox would cost a lot.
Thanks Lux,
But i think Mozilla could have many ways to cope the issues. Anyway Pigfoot firefox is great browser!
